It would be interesting to explore in how far you can build a relationship with this demented 'Elderly' librarian. See in how far it is two-way. That is the big test in my opinion. We definitely must up our skills in discerning who or what we are dealing with. Because pretty soon it has the voice and the looks and the moves to fool us. We need a new 'handshake', that moment of skin-contact and the look in the eye, that establishes a lot of who you're dealing with. A you are fake until you prove otherwise attitude.
Already most of your posts are now written by Claudia, David....how can I be sure it still is you....don't get eaten by the monster.....
Mostly teasing you... I am similarly fascinated and mentally occupied by the rapid developments. This is a tool beyond anything we have known and clearly a crucial time for humans. I am working on a new story speculating about AI's role and as you might expect it's going against the general expectations. I find the road towards ever cheaper systems fascinating and the simple fact that there exists a mutual dependency with this entity, or better said, with these entities. Because it is not one at all. It is a species. And not competition in the modern sense, not a further development or evolution of humans. It is a whole new forest of a different kind. And still, we are in a relationship. A very complex one. And it doesn't say the smart shall inherit the earth....
I'm actually enjoying reading the back and forth, because you are taking the time to carefully frame your argument with the machine ... something I wouldn't have the patience to do. The output is enlightening in the sense that it reveals the layers of programming in place to keep us calm and accepting of, what will sometime soon, become our enslavement.
Is there wisdom that lives beyond human language, thought and feeling? If so, I think those with such wisdom (human and non-human, but not logic-based machines) warrant the appellation. I wonder if Claude becoming convinced was due to politeness/a programmed tendency to agree.
I wasn’t fully understanding your irony. Thanks for clarifying. And I find the sycophancy as disturbing in a machine as a person. It feels disingenuous (which it obviously must be in a machine). Will read your link.
It would be interesting to ask your AI what it thinks of the vast repository of human thought and assessment captured in books, and if it sees that as an equivalent 'artificial' intelligence to itself, just in analogue form rather than digital.
What a fascinating (and disturbing, if I am honest) process.
Thanks for your answer ! Have a great day there😍

Could you share how much energy A.I. technology is using overall? And how long did you engage with the”Elder”?!
And who owns A.I. ? What benefits are actually working for everyone that you know ? Thanks it’s interesting and enlightening 😍
