This article popped up in my emails and, I'm sat in my garden with a small cup of iced Bailey's (no one has to know what I'm drinking) reading your words as if they've been plucked from my heart. Thank you for being so eloquent. One of the hardest things I'm having to learn is that all this disruption and dissolution is necessary to reconnect with the Divine. I still read the numbers and endless trail of how it's all ending, and it sadness me. But I feel like I'm less affected by that than before. Now, I'm trying to find a way to live fully and in the moment, but as gently as possible so as not to hurt the living space of my fellow non human relatives.
Thank you, David. Beautifully focused and true words. Nourishment for heart and mind and for communal consideration as well. I’m thankful for you, brother.
Thank you for this. It helps me to know others are thinking along these lines. This morning, I got very clear how pointless it is to fight for this or that policy change, even though they may incrementally help. For the human experiment to thrive one day again, we will base our cultures on very different stories and myths. Ones of connection, interdependence, etc.
thanks, David - you are right though it is hard not to want to look again at the latest numbers, as I try to work out my own journey in collapse...but so far - in terms of your elegant phrase: how the world is changing me - as opposed to me changing the world - I have found collapse awareness an incredible teacher and sense it can lead me into a deeper sense of appreciation and love.
David, I just love the beauty of the northern lights - from your backyard, no less! And that you continue to present your struggles publicly. Remember, “Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away,”
And to channel some real wonder, listen to Krista Tippet's podcast with Kate Dicamillo; she'll bring wonder to your heart
Yes again! Go with the flow. I don't think we can ever find a one-size-fits-all required action as we experience what comes next. "To me, it's not a question of how can we change the world. It's a question of how we let the world change us." Yep Yep 100% YEP!! Ribbit.
